Duration: 15 weeks (2 hours for theory in class/week +2 hours for exercise in class/week + 6 self-study hours/week).

  1. Course Description: 

The course provides basic knowledge of main materials used in the printing industry, such as paper, ink, adhesives, film, corrugated board, hot stamping foil, cold-printing foil. The knowledge is about:

-       Material composition,

-       Physical properties,

-       Technological properties (conditions for using materials in production process; the relationship between materials and print quality),

-       Classification,

-       Printing errors related to printing materials and trouble shooting guidelines 

-       Technical guidelines for selecting suitable materials that are not only compatible with the real production conditions but also are suitable for other economic parameters.
